Where to Begin- The Student Appeals Process

Where you begin depends on the nature of the complaint and the LCC Division where the problem occurred. Should the complaint span more than one Division, you may begin with either:

  • Complaints about grades, classes or any other occurrence must begin with the instructor. This may help in resolving the issue in a timely manner by beginning at the point of origin.
  • If the problem is not resolved with the instructor, or if the concern and/or complaint is a matter other than instruction, it must first be addressed in the appropriate office in the division(s) where the problem occurred.

College Divisions:

  1. Liberal Studies Division
  2. Business, Media, and Information Technologies Division
  3. Technical Careers Division
  4. Human Health and Public Service Careers Division
  5. Student and Academic Support/Strategic Enrollment Management Division
  6. Business and Community Institute

This is the college appeals process

  • Student complaints may be filed personally in the SAS/SEM Divisional Office or sent to sasdiv.
  • Student appeals (grades, discipline, rules violation, educational record, and admissions) may be processed utilizing the normal Due Process.
