Future & Current Students - Brittany Packowski

In high school I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do, but I signed up for EISD (Eaton Intermediate School District) program that works hand-in-hand with LCC, and offers a lot of courses where students can explore a lot of different careers. It was great for me because it introduced me to some areas in health care, and it made me realize how much I liked it. I knew this was the general field where I wanted to study.

As a freshman at LCC, I took courses that got the students working out in the field with nurses and instructors. Eventually my program qualified me to take the State Competency Evaluation Nurse Examination to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, , or CNA, and it gave me the inspiration to want to learn more about various areas in the health care field. I think my "A-ha" moment happened when I had the chance to watch sonographers doing ultrasounds and working with patients. I just want to be a part of it. And that's the program I'm working toward now, and hoping to be accepted in next year.

LCC is a great place to explore careers possibilities. It might take a little time, but it's worth it. Doing what you want to do is the most important thing. It's what you'll be doing every day of your life, and you could be doing it for a long time. I know I want to work in the health field, and that makes my classes and all the learning interesting and fun and important to me.
