Hi, I'm Louise Paquette, mathematics instructor at Lansing Community College. I'm
also a faculty advisor, and coordinator for the 2+2+2 Engineering Program and the Liberal
Studies scholarships.
I've been teaching mathematics for many years - 6 years of high school teaching for L'Anse
Creuse High School, graduate assistant teaching at MSU while I earned my Masters, and
Education Specialist degrees, 3 1/3 years as an instructor for the math department
at MSU, and currently I'm in my 23rd year of teaching math at LCC. I also taught math at
Lyman Briggs College at MSU for five years. Here's my current
schedule.
I've been married for 34 years to Lee, and we have two children - Ann, who
graduated from MSU with a degree in Psychology, and Jay, who
is a freshman at LCC . I'm proud to say that
Jay became an Eagle Scout in Jan 2001.
I'm an active member of University
Lutheran Church in E.Lansing (I direct the bell choir and sing in the senior choir). I
am a member of the Mid-Michigan Knitters Guild and the Knitting Guild of America.. I also like outdoor activities
and scuba diving (I was certified 12/1999, below is a picture with my dive buddy Joe, and instructor Lisa). For
indoor exercise, I like to do Hydrofit (water exercise). Summer of 2002 I attended
a math conference in Hilo, Hawaii. If you'd like to see pictures from my trip (about
80 of them, a powerpoint show with approximately 5 seconds between pictures) , click on
the link below. Included are pictures taken while scuba diving, snorkeling, and
visiting the Volcanoes National Park (we were able to get close to the lava that was
flowing). Summer2003, Ann and I took a cruise to Scandinavia and
Russia. Scandinavia photos.
