What are Online Courses?
-
Online courses can be accessed from anywhere using an Internet connection. Everything is done over the Internet or through e-mail, except testing which is done at LCC's Assessment Center or through an arranged proctored site. * Please be aware that you may be charged a proctoring fee each time you test at another location other than LCC!
-
Online classes are delivered using a Web service known as Angel. Lecture notes, assignments, instructor information and the course syllabus will all be located in your class site on Angel. To access Angel log into LCC's StarPort at www.lcc.edu
-
There is no set time to work on your classes. You can access your course 24-hours a day; seven days a week. An exception to this rule is some courses have arranged chat times, or they may have you assigned to a group that agrees to meet at a certain time of day. Otherwise, you are free to work whenever it is convenient for you.
-
It is important to remember that courses are real college classes. There are due dates for assignments, tests, papers, lectures, readings and so forth. Online courses appear on your transcript as any other courses would at LCC. Your transcript does not indicate that the courses were taken virtually.

All courses are accredited through North Central Association of Schools.
