Alternative Part Time Format

The Career Ladder Nursing Program Alternative Format for Part-Time Students within Lansing Community College's Nursing Department will enable the nontraditional student to pursue a terminal degree (Associate Degree in Applied Science) in nursing while maintaining their existing life responsibilities. This program is an innovative community initiative which addresses the critical shortage of registered nurses our community, state, and nation faces.

Some of the courses are offered in a Hybrid format, meaning that students will be required to meet face-to-face with their instructor, and also complete coursework online.  For hybrid learning information click here.

Thirty-two students will be admitted each fall semester. Coursework will consist of theory, labs and clinical rotations. The program will be eight consecutive semesters in length; sixteen weeks during the fall and spring, and eight weeks in the summer.

The successful graduate will be eligible to write the NCLEX-RN Exam with subsequent Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan.
