2009-10 Carl Perkins Grant
LCC was allocated $1.1 million in federal money for this year's Carl Perkins Grant. LCC adds an additional $785,728 in local funds to bring the grant total to $1.9 million. The grant is used to support Special Populations students by providing supportive services, attendance costs, tutoring, accommodations and supervision. The grant also is used for program improvement projects such as curriculum development, mastery learning, supplemental instruction, tutoring, basic skills assessment, recruiting and outreach for state-approved occupational programs. Lastly, grant funds are used to purchase major equipment for these occupational programs.
