Early Childhood Center Receives Grant
Senator Debbie Stabenow's office has informed the college that our new Early Childhood Center will receive a U.S. Department of Education CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) grant. The award is for our requested amount of $132,288 per year for four years. This is the third time LCC has been awarded a CCAMPIS grant, the process for which is extremely competitive. The funds will support staff compensation and stipends for our students who need financial assistance for child care. The grant period begins October 1. Congratulations to Marcia Rysztak and her team for the excellent job they did in competing for the grant.
