Banner Project Update

Implementation Schedule

Below is a tentative go-live schedule for the remaining Banner Systems and their components:

Finance System

  • Budget and Fixed Assets - 10/31/2007

  • Endowment Management - 5/18/08

Human Resources System

  • Payroll and Self-Service Time Entry - 12/9/2007

  • Remaining Components - 1/1/08

Student System

  • Admissions - 2/4/2008

  • Registration - 6/25/2008

  • Accounts Receivable (Billing) - 7/7/2008

  • Curriculum Advising and Program Planning (CAPP) - Fall 2008 (phased in over 1 year)

Financial Aid

  • Needs Analysis Module and ISIR Processing (Record Creation) - 3/10/08

  • Tracking Items Communications to Students - 4/1/08

  • Awards to Students - 4/30/08 - Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) - 6/15/08

  • Student Employment - 9/12/08

End User Training

End User Training is being provided in a team-based approach. Each training session has an Organizational Development Trainer to deliver the Banner forms training and a functional expert from the specific area of the college which the training is covering. Training is currently being conducted only through face-to-face hands-on sessions; however, online training is being planned for the future.

To ensure accurate data entry, extraction and report writing, Banner end-user competency verification is required before an end user will have access to the Banner production system. This verification is also necessary in order to monitor the quality and effectiveness of the training sessions. So far over 200 LCC employees have taken Banner Finance Requisitions and Approvals trainings and all have had their competency verified and gained access to production.

Banner communication is a top priority of the LCC Executive Leadership Team and Banner Implementation Team. In order to have timely and effective communication with the LCC community and its stakeholders the following communication vehicles are being used:
