Banner Project News
The college achieved a major milestone in July when it successfully launched the first phase of the Banner Finance system. Now live and operational, the first phase involves purchasing, general ledger, accounts payable, and cash receipts not related to student transactions. More than 200 employees have attended end-user training and been given authorization to use the system. The next phase goes live on September 28, 2007 and will involve fixed assets. Employees should make note of the following:
-
No change to LCC card and expense reports will be made until late Fall 2007.
-
No change in payroll processing (timesheet data and recording of payroll transactions) will occur until January 1, 2008.
-
No change in student system transactions will occur until February 2008.
All employees were invited to an Open Forum on July 23 to learn more about the progress being made with Banner Finance, and a campus-wide celebration of the milestone was held on July 24.
Special thanks must go to the following staff who served on the Finance Process Team and gave invaluable expertise and support: Randy Roy (Team Leader), Wayne Provines, Patty Worso, Pam Blundy, Caroline Duda, and Becky Beard. Rich Allen, and Chad Lycos, Sylvia Wood, Barb Farr, Angela Kolhof, Richard Quattrocchi (SunGard User Liaison), and Sheryl Love (SunGard User Liaison). Other Finance Division staff who were instrumental in helping the college reach this goal and deserve thanks are: Marianne Robbins, Stephanie Dombroski, Kris Stroud, Jessica Roy, Chris Bergau, Ngao Phiri, Carol Witt, Doloras Eiseler, Diane Miles, Terry Westmoreland, and Evelyn Lynn.
Several documents related to use of the Banner Finance system are available to employees through the following workspace https://alero.lcc.edu/files/content/AllPublic/Workspaces/LCC_Banner_Documentation-Public.
In addition, quick links to the most important documentation will soon be listed under the Banner Star Port Banner Tab.
Meanwhile, training is taking place for the Financial Aid, Student, Human Resources and Technical teams. The next system to go live is Human Resources, tentatively scheduled for January 1, 2008.
