Banner Update
To assure that Banner effectively supports functional areas, SunGard consultants last month provided training to Banner Process Teams on "How to Conduct a Business Process Analysis" (BPA). SunGard consultants also facilitated BPAs for the following LCC processes: work study, expense reports, financial aid loan processing, fee assessment, employee time entry, and degree audits.
New servers were installed the first week of December. Banner software also was installed and verified.
Beginning in December, one of the Banner Teams is being featured each week on the Banner webpage under the "Updates" section. Photos of team members and a description of their roles and responsibilities can be viewed at www.lcc.edu/banner. A total of 51 employees are currently participating on one or more Banner teams.
The Finance Process Team, led by Randy Roy, recently completed a three-day virtual classroom training on Banner Navigation. The team also received 24 hours of Chart of Accounts training. The team is now working on completing the Chart of Accounts, one of the first major deliverables in the Banner implementation process. This major milestone will help establish the entire framework for the Banner system, including significant structure for the Finance, Human Resources and Student system areas.

For more details about the timing of the training and other Banner meetings, visit the Banner Calendar in Outlook (Open Outlook and select Calendar, Select File, then Open, then Other User's Folder. In Name field, type: Banner Project. Make sure "Open in New Window" is checked and click OK).
