K-12 Initiatives at Lansing Community College

Lansing Community College offers a wealth of summer programs for students in grades K-12!   Follow the links below for more information on any of the programs.

Last week, 15 students (entering 6-8 grades in the fall) participated in the 2011 STEM Challenges program. STEM encourages gifted learners in science and math to extend and build upon classroom experiences with other gifted learners. Youth participate in two primary content areas – robotics and nanoscience technologies.

Each session of  STEM Challenges is facilitated by LCC faculty and uses LCC classrooms. The intent is to allow participants access to the campus, the facilities and most importantly, the faculty who teach at LCC, providing insight to the quality of instructors as well as the facilities on campus.
