Film Industry Training Coming Soon To LCC
Cooperative Training Program
Lansing Community College, Michigan State University and Capital Area Michigan Works! are partnering to provide on-campus training for Michiganders seeking employment in the state's growing film industry.
Capital Area Michigan Works! is going to recruit and oversee a cooperative training program between Lansing Community College's Digital Media, Audio, and Cinema program and MSU’s Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media to provide training in film-production on campus.
Preparing Michigan Residents
LCC faculty and the MSU department will be working together to provide 80 hours of training, preparing Michigan residents seeking jobs in the film industry for a variety of below-the-line positions. A grant of $195,000 from the state of Michigan will help fund competitive scholarships from the Capital Area Michigan Works!, which will cover the full cost of the program for the selected students.
For a more in-depth look at the program please go over to the MSU news site, which has video of the announcement and additional information.
