Graphing Calculator Policy
Instructors will demonstrate graphing calculator usage in the classroom with
a calculator from the TI-83 or TI-84 series.
The recommended calculator for purchase is the TI-84+. If you are going on
to the calculus sequence, then you may want to consider the TI-89 Titanium;
however, you may have to know how to use it on your own since not all
instructors will use the TI-89 Titanium in classroom demonstrations. Other
TI models (92+, Voyage 200, TI-Nspire) or other brands of graphing calculators
may be used; however, you are responsible for knowing how to use them.
You are allowed to use your calculator on tests unless otherwise specified;
though, quite often instructors will ask for all algebraic work to be shown.
Calculators may be checked for material entered in programs.
Please note that other institutions may not allow graphing calculator usage in
the classroom and/or testing situations, especially those with QWERTY keyboards.
TI graphing calculators may be purchased at these
stores.
