What Is A Placement Test?

A math placement test is used to establish your Math Basic Skill Level. 

There are four different types of math placement tests. In order of difficulty, they are: the Arithmetic test, the Elementary Algebra test, the College Level Math test, and the Calculus test. The Calculus test is pen and paper. The others are administered online.

What Are The Guidelines?

  • A picture ID and a student number are required prior to starting a test.

  • Results are provided immediately, and are entered in the student's college record, so that the information is available when and where it is needed.

Where Do I Take One?

Placement tests are taken in the Assessment Center, located in Suite 2100 of the Gannon Vocational-Technical Building. Please call the Assessment Center at (517) 267-5500 for testing hours
