Administrative Services - Materials Managment
We will earn our customers' confidence through continuous improvement driven
by the professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and innovation of the Materials
Management Services/Mail Services Staff.
The areas (Receiving & Inventory, Mail, Print Services) comprised
within Materials Management ensure a continuous supply of goods and services
through integrated supply chain management. This is accomplished by the
utilization of automated systems for the requisition, inventory, and
distribution of goods and services, through decentralized and centralized
processes, and contract administration for outsourced services. Materials
Management ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local statutes
pertaining to the procurement of goods and services by public agencies; United
States Postal Regulations regarding the processing of U.S. Mail; OSHA, MIOSHA,
and general warehouse principals regarding the safe handling of hazardous
materials and operation of heavy equipment. Materials Management also ensures
alignment of supply chain management with the College’s strategic plan to ensure
goods, specialty graphics and services are provided from responsible and
responsive suppliers offering the lowest possible cost and providing the overall
best value to the College.
Mail Services provides services involving the preparation, metering
and presorting of incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail for all of LCC campuses. Our
area is responsible for processing mail in a timely manner and at the least possible
cost to the college. Mail Services is also responsible for interpreting and enforcing
U.S. Postal regulations and providing postal information to campus personnel. U.S. Mail is delivered and picked up daily from
department offices by our dedicated Mail Services Staff members and brought to
the mail center for processing. The Mail Center receives approximately 25,000 to
40,000 pieces of mail a week from U.S. Post Office. The mail is sorted into
different classifications and processed according to the different U.S. Postal
regulations and handling requirements.
