New 3+1 Program for Elementary Education at the LCC University Center.  Ferris State University in partnership with LCC now offers a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Early Childhood (ZA Endorsement).  For more information or an advising appointment contact: The Office of Teacher Preparation 517-483-1015.

New Education Advisor:

A new Education advisor has been added to the staff of the Office of Teacher Preparation.  In addition to the wonderful folks in Counseling and Advising, students interested in teacher education may discuss career and program options with Ann Selleck, an experienced advisor and Education instructor.  Ms. Selleck is available beginning August 21.  Call 483-1015 for an appointment.

Whether you are exploring your options or are already committed to a career in teaching, LCC is where success begins! We offer a wide range of courses and programs for future teachers and teacher paraprofessionals that include both a strong educational foundation and hands-on experience. We work closely with university teacher certification programs to make sure that the courses you take at LCC will be useful and will transfer without loss of credit.

Getting started:

1. Check out the Student Guide to Teacher Certification (pdf) to learn more about teacher certification in Michigan and the LCC programs that lead you there.

2. Enroll in one of our introductory courses to explore teaching as a profession:
     a.  EDUC 201 - Education Practicum
     b.  EDUC 220 - Introduction to Education
     c.  EDUC 230 - Introduction to Special Education

3. See an education advisor.
