Adventures in Science
LEGO Robotics-INTENSE NEW
Vehicle Engineering NEW

All classes will be held at LCC East

Creepy Science: Grades 2 - 3

Instructor: Julia Freije
Do you enjoy science experiments with unusual and eerie results? Then prepare to brew up some scary fun! Through the extraordinary powers of chemistry and physics, we will be performing some remarkably spooky feats, while discovering basic scientific principles. Join us for a creepy, awesome experience - and it's all science!

June 24 - June 28
9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon
East Campus
Tuition: $159.00

Pickle Power NEW   Grades 2 - 3

Instructor: Karen Delaney
Ever get in trouble for playing with your food? In this class, it is required! We will make spaghetti boogie, rice dance, and explode lemonade. Satisfy your science cravings with candy chemistry, pickle batteries, and rubber eggs. We will explore tons of hands-on, food related experiments and the reason behind each delicious disaster.

June 24 - June 28
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
East Campus
Tuition: $159.00

Junior Vehicle Engineering NEW   Grades 4 - 5

This course in offered in partnership between Lansing Community College and ALL ABOUT LEARNING

All About Learning

This class will explore engineering and vehicle concepts. Students will build two machines each day with the goal of experimenting and the knowledge on how vehicles work and compete with each other. Each day will offer a specific topic relating the engineering aspect of motion with the feasibility of design. Students will have the opportunity to race their conceptual vehicles-daily to see who will master of the machine. Remember, vehicles are not always cars and trucks!!

June 24 - June 28
9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon
East Campus
Tuition: $179.00

Adventures in Science   Grades 4 - 5

Instructor: Carol McGrath
Did you ever wonder how wind energy is used to generate electricity? Or how hydrogen fuel cells can run a car? Join us for five fun-filled days in "Adventures in Science". In this class, we will perform experiments in physics, chemistry, biology and environmental science. Each day will be a different adventure into a different area of science! How about racing saltwater fuel cell cars and designing and testing windmills to see which designs generate the most electricity? Become a science explorer and join us on these science adventures!

June 24 - June 28
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
East Campus
Tuition: $159.00

LEGO Advanced Robotics INTENSE NEW   Grades 6 - 8

This course in offered in partnership between Lansing Community College and Information Technology Empowerment Center

ITEC

Intense concentration for LEGO Robotics enthusiasts. Find out everything the Mindstorms equipment and programming options can do to make your robot almost "human". The instructor will cover the requirements and skills needed for statewide LEGO competitions. Improve your competency and programming abilities while working in a group competition environment to promote team building skills and project management.

June 24 - June 28
9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon
East Campus
Tuition: $159.00

Vehicle Engineering NEW   Grades 6 - 8

This course in offered in partnership between Lansing Community College and ALL ABOUT LEARNING

All About Learning

This class will explore engineering and vehicle concepts building two vehicles each day. Team building is emphasized as partnerships are formed for a race team. Specific topics will be discussed each day in depth and practical implementation of engineering theory will be incorporated into student designs. Students will discover what works and what does not and the why, of their engineering concept vehicle. Vehicles of the future may not be limited to cars and trucks-only by the imagination!

June 24 - June 28
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
East Campus
Tuition: $179.00
