Kindles will be unavailable for check out beginning Saturday, April 28. They will be availabe for check out when the library re-opens for the summer semester Wednesday, June 6.
The library has four Kindle 2 and two Kindle DX available to check out. Our Kindles contain a variety of current best sellers that supplement our print Browsing Collection.
To checkout a Kindle please bring you StarCard or Driver's License to the Checkout Desk in the library on the 2nd floor of the TLC building. You will be asked to complete and sign a brief borrower's agreement which describes the rules for borrowing the Kindle. After that, you're ready to start reading.
Kindles are available for 1 week checkout with no renewals.
There are currently 42 different titles available on the Kindles, which you can browse at right or by visiting the Kindle catalog at LibraryThing.
If you want to download other materials to the Kindle you will have to register the Kindle with your personal Amazon account. The library cannot guarantee that any material downloaded to the Kindle will persist from checkout to checkout.

Please return the Kindle to the Checkout Desk in the library, on the second floor of the TLC building. Do not return the Kindle to the library dropbox, as it could result in the Kindle being damaged by other items. There is a $15.00 fine if a Kindle is returned to the library dropbox and you are responsible for any resulting damage to the Kindle.
There is a $1.00 per hour charge if you bring the Kindle back late.

Additionally, a hold will be placed on your record prohibiting you from borrowing library materials. Students will be prohibited from receiving grades, transcripts or registering for classes until the fees are paid.
