XReferPlus: Your Online Reference Library
LCC Library has purchased access to a new research database, XReferPlus. It is an online resource library at your fingertips! XReferPlus has over 200 high-quality reference books from the world's leading publishers. It contains all the types of reference books that you'd expect to see in an academic library: dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauri, and books of quotations; not to mention a host of subject-specific titles covering everything from the arts to accountancy and law to literature.
XReferPlus’ uniqueness comes from its “xreferences.” Xreferences are special cross-references that transcend the physical limitations of a book to link related information across the whole digital reference library.
Another special feature of this online research database is the Concept Map, a dynamic visual map of your search results with hundreds of entries and related topics and subtopics clustered together.
The Concept Map feature alone is worth taking a look at in this new research database. Think of it as a non-linear look at information. A nice feature for our multimedia-oriented millennial students!
To access XReferPlus click here or follow this path:
- Go to the LCC Library website www.lcc.edu/library
- Click Databases at upper left-hand corner.
- Click on the letter "X" at the top of the screen.
