Library Instruction Services for your Students

Reference Librarians at the LCC Library provide assignment-based library and Internet instruction for your students. A typical instruction session may include a brief library tour and hands-on instruction in the use of the Library catalog and research databases. The session also emphasizes effective search strategies to locate and evaluate appropriate resources.

The library instruction session should be tailored to a research assignment. Librarians are available to assist you with designing an assignment for your course. Please provide at least one week’s notice when requesting the library session and send a copy of the assignment with your request. Instructors are required to attend the session with their students.

To request a library instruction session for your class choose one of these options:

  1. Submit the Library Instruction Request Form on the library website.
  2. Complete the paper form available at the Reference Desk (Library, 2nd floor TLC Building)
  3. Telephone the Reference Desk at 517.483.1615
  4. Telephone or email Kim Farley (517.483.1662, farleyk@lcc.edu)
