Scholarly Solutions for Students: Academic OneFile

The library is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Academic OneFile research database, a database aimed at researchers of all levels. Comprised of the academic information from InfoTrac OneFile and an additional 6,000 academic journals not available in any other Gale databases, this new database provides access to about 9,000 journals that are mostly peer-reviewed and provide full-text articles.

Academic OneFile strives to meet the curricula needs in the areas of science, nursing, psychology, education, religion and philosophy, criminal justice and technology. Thousands of journals indexed in major scholarly indices such as BIOSIS, CINAHL, EconLit, ERIC, Medline, MLA International Bibliography and PsycINFO are now available in the new Academic OneFile.

In addition to peer-reviewed articles this subscription also includes New York Times articles from 1995 to present and Gale’s Encyclopedia of Medicine, Encyclopedia of Science and Dictionary of World Biography. Other specialized resources include transcripts and podcasts from the NPR Archive and the full Economist Intelligence Unit series.
