How to Recognize
Plagiarism
This site provides good practice for identifying plagiarism. It includes
samples (with feedback) of original expository paragraphs with students'
paraphrasing. Feedback includes the reason(s) why the students' work is or
is not plagiarism.

A great source of information on writing business correspondence, resumes,
technical reports, business plans, proposals, progress reports,
instructions, user guides and more.
Purdue's Writing Lab
Purdue University's Online Writing Lab is often cited as the best one on
the World Wide Web. Browse its large collection of "handouts." Some of the
topics include outlining, writing a research paper, punctuation, argumentative
writing, writing essay exams, writing definitions, and writing a thesis
statement.
Sentence Sense
This online textbook is divided into four sections: grammar, usage,
writing, and resources. Chapters 16 and 17 in Part 3 provide useful
information on how to limit a topic, write a thesis topic, write a
conclusion, and give and receive peer responses. A number of quizzes are
also included.

Bibliography format information. Includes MLA & APA styles.
Understanding Plagiarism
This tutorial uses paraphrased examples of original text to test students'
understanding of plagiarism. The examples in this tutorial use MLA
documentation style.
University of Victoria Writer's Guide
This guide provides introductory information on the writing process. The
section on essays is especially detailed and includes examples of
expository and literary essays.
