Writing Center Online Assistance
Providing assistance to LCC students with writing projects in courses across the curriculum.
Is an online appointment right for you? Considerations before scheduling an online appointment
- Do you have stable internet access?
- Are you familiar with Angel, or have you completed an online course at LCC?
- Do you live a considerable distance from campus?
- Do you have enough time to allow for 48 hours for an appointment?
- Do you have specific questions about your assignment?
Ex: Are my topic sentences strong? Is my introduction effective? Etc… - Is this a follow-up appointment with the Writing Center?
If you feel an online appointment is right for you…here’s what to expect:
- A scheduled, 50 minute appointment with an attentive Peer Writing Assistant
- An interactive chat about your writing

Now the important part! Scheduling an online appointment:
Send us an email message to us at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a time that is convenient for you and the Online Peer Writing Assistant with the following information*:
- Full Name (first and last):
- Student Number:
- Is this the first time you've used on-line assistance through the LCC Writing Center? (Yes/No):
- Course for which you are requiring assistance (example: WRIT 121):
- Days and times your course meets:
- Day and time you'd like to meet:
- Telephone number

*Please note that failure to provide accurate or complete information may delay your appointment. Feel free to call the Writing Center with any questions at (517) 483-1907
- After we receive your information, you will get a confirmation email from the Peer Writing Assistant confirming your appointment time or to work out another scheduled time if needed.
- When a confirmed time is set, you will receive instructions for uploading your paper to Angel as well as tips for a successful online appointment.
