English The ESL program offers four levels of skill instruction, from basic to advanced, leading to college readiness, as shown in the table below. Beginning in Fall 2007 our basic, intermediate, and high intermediate levels are changing. These new courses are listed below. Two other courses are also offered. One is a computer literacy course for English as Second Language students. This course is offered as a Pass/Fail, no numerical grade is given. The other is an applied grammar course for Writing.

You start by taking a placement test which is given in the Assessment
Center. The test scores are used
to place you into one of the four levels of instruction listed above. Following the placement test, you will need to speak with
an ESL advisor about your test results and correct course placement.
