The system cutover will occur on December 20th. Watch for a detailed email to employees and check back here as updates occur. After this date, all new emails will be delivered to the new system.
Calendars should be moved as soon as possible after the system cutover occurs. Scheduling meetings during this transition period will be tricky since not everyone’s calendar may have been moved.
Workspaces will be moved (and cleaned out) by the Document Czars shortly after the cutover.
Personal files may be moved anytime after the cutover and prior to February 29, 2008, but the sooner they are moved the better.
Yes. The new system may be access through the web (StarPort) or it may also be access through Outlook (for email and calendars) and through a desktop shortcut for files.
You may access the new system through StarPort.
If you use Outlook it will need to be reconfigured to point to the new system.
Files may be access using a new shortcut, call LCC Files, that will be pushed to your desktop. In addition instructions for creating the shortcut is located in the Desk Manual in StarPort.
There is no easy way to know if someone has converted their calendar.
If their calendar looks "to available to be true", it probably hasn’t been converted.

There are several benefits to the upgrade in addition to continued support from the vendor.
The new release provides several improvements and solutions to identified problems; for example, access to documents can be granted at a folder- or even document-level versus the current system which only allows access rights at the workspace level.
There is also an update for our campus voicemail that will address several problems experienced with the existing version.
Users will also see improved performance as we are taking this opportunity to upgrade the hardware that supports the application.
All distribution lists will need to be recreated manually.
This is being handled by ITS Division Office. Please be patient as some errors may occur during the transition.
Yes. The College’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) has decided that all college email will be delivered to an LCC email account.
Review your personal files in the old system to determine which files you need to move to the new system. This is a great opportunity to clean out those old files.
In addition, emails will be coming out from the helpdesk with other steps to help prepare for the new system.
Oh don’t panic…it’s only email, voicemail and your files that are affected by this.
But there is help provided. Attend one of the drop in sessions, check with your document czar or call the HELP DESK (483-5221).
