The Human Resources Department exists to attract and retain well-qualified employees to LCC and to manage traditional HR functions within the College.  Primary HR functions are coordination of the hiring process, labor contract negotiation and administration, compensation and benefit management, College-wide training in HR practices and traditional HR reporting and record-keeping to meet college needs and legal requirements.

Manage the Hiring Process

  • Monitor full-time searches to ensure they are legal, equitable and timely
  • Extensive advertising to support equal opportunity for vacancies
  • Infusion of innovation methods in recruitment, application process and interviewing
  • Support part-time hiring through advertising vacancies

Strengthen Relationships

  • Partner with the Center for Teaching Excellence for orientation of new part-time and full-time faculty
  • Partner with the Health Care Task Force to ensure the best health care benefits for the dollar for employees
  • Partner with unions through Labor/Management Groups to enhance communication
  • Partner with the EEO to ensure equitable hiring practice

Advise and Counsel

  • Benefit orientations for full-time employees.
  • Information presented to part-time employees related to available benefits.
  • Support managers through assistance with contract interpretation and administration.
