Annual Wellness Release Time Details
· Release time will be made available to employees regardless of participation in the Rewards Program.
· Release time is to be used for Employee Wellness Activities only. CTE, Leading and learning, etc. do not apply.
· Release time does not accrue. Any unused release time is forfeited at the closing of each fiscal year.
· Release time allotment is based on regularly scheduled working hours.
A. Full-time Faculty
All full-time faculty will be granted 8 hours of annual release time (considered college business) to attend events sponsored by Employee Wellness.
NOTE 1: Faculty are expected to manage their attendance of Wellness events so that attendance does not conflict with scheduled class time.
NOTE 2: If your primary assignment is full-time, you are entitled to total of 8 hours release time.

If you record Wellness Release Time hours, use your normal PTAEO but substitute “Bench” as the Task and “Wellness Activities” as the Hours type.
B. Part-time Faculty
Part-time faculty will be granted a portion of the 8 hours, based on their average semester contact hours for the calendar year, to attend Wellness sponsored events (see Table 2 below). This annual allotment will be paid at the professional development rate.
NOTE 1: Faculty are expected to manage their attendance of Wellness events so that attendance does not conflict with scheduled class time.
NOTE 2: Wellness events are not considered part of load.
NOTE 3: The release time for the total of an individual’s regularly scheduled, part-time assignments will be considered up to a maximum of 6 release hours in application of the 30 hour rule.

D. Part-time Staff
All part-time non-teaching staff will be granted a portion of the 8 hours based on their working hours (see Table 4 below).
NOTE 1: The release time for the total of an individual’s regularly scheduled, part-time assignments will be considered up to a maximum of 6 release hours in application of the 30 hour rule.
NOTE 2: Wellness release time cannot be considered for overtime.

E. Student Employees
Student employees may attend wellness events on their own time or with the approval of their supervisor.
