Pharmacy Technician Associate

TITLE OF TRAINING: Pharmacy Technician Associate TUITION: $2,150.00

TARGET AUDIENCE: Individuals interested in becoming members of pharmacy delivery teams

DESCRIPTION

This program prepares participants to become successful members of pharmacy delivery teams. Participants will be prepared to function with knowledge and accuracy in dispensing and control of drugs in either a hospital or retail pharmacy. The program includes classroom and lab work, as well as practical, hands-on experience in the workplace environment. Successful participants will be prepared to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board National Certification Exam.

PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN TO

  • Prepare medications using knowledge of side effects and adverse reactions
  • Assess a prescription or medication order for completeness (for example, patient name, address, birth date, insurance, etc.), accuracy (right drug, strength, and appropriate directions for product), authenticity, legality, and reimbursement eligibility
  • Perform duties within State and Federal Laws that pertain to pharmacy
  • Exhibit the behavior of a professional in the discipline




TRAINING TOPICS

  • Preparation of drug reports
  • Preparation of medications
  • Usage of Aseptic Technique and the proper procedure(s) for mixing various sterile product
  • Calculation of child/adult dosages of medication and flow rate of IV solutions

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum High School diploma or GED.
  2. Screening Assessment: National Career Readiness Assessment (WorkKeys) in Applied Math, Reading for Information and Locating Information
  3. Class Attendance Policy: Participants must attend at least 90% of the required training hours. Participants will be allowed no more than three (3) excused absences throughout the duration of the training program. A sign-in/sign-out attendance sheet will be used.
  4. Assessment:
    1. A test will be taken at the beginning and end of training to assess how much a participant has learned.
    2. Quizzes and exams will be given throughout the training.
  5. Skills Practice: Participants will practice what they are learning through lab work and other methods.
  6. Portfolio: Participants will develop a portfolio of competencies to assist in securing employment.

CNC Machinist

TITLE OF TRAINING: CNC Machinist TUITION: $2,500.00
TYPE OF TRAINING: Classroom / Lab LOCATION:

HOURS of TRAINING: 210  # of CEUs: 17 CLASS CAPACITY:    15
TARGET AUDIENCE: Individuals interested in entry level CNC machinist positions in the manufacturing industry

DESCRIPTION

This program prepares participants for entry level CNC positions in the manufacturing industry. Participants will receive hands-on instruction in the basics of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, blueprint reading, introduction to manufacturing principles and computer numerical control programming.

PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN TO

  • Operate milling machines
  • Use specific measuring instruments to an accuracy of 0.001
  • Read blueprints
  • Operate lathe
  • Create CNC programs using the conversational programming system

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum High School diploma or GED.
  2. Basic mechanical drafting skills are necessary to begin this program and may be demonstrated by a score of 80% or better on the Drafting Placement Test.
  3. Basic computer skills are necessary for this course and can be demonstrated by a score of 80% or better on the PC Applications for Technology Placement Test.
  4. Screening Assessment: National Career Readiness Assessment (WorkKeys) in Applied Math, Reading for Information and Locating Information
