Graduation

Deadlines

Submit applications for associate degrees and certificates to Admissions, Registration & Records the semester the program requirements are completed on or before the deadline.

March 15 - Last day to apply for Spring semester associate degrees and certificates.*

July 15 – Last day to apply for Summer semester associate degrees and certificates.*

November 15 - Last day to apply for Fall semester associate degrees and certificates.*

*When the application deadline falls on the weekend, applications will be accepted through the following Monday.

Commencement Ceremony - May 16, 2014

Students who have earned an Associate Degree or Certificate of Achievement from Summer 2013 and Fall 2013, as well as, students approved to earn an Associate Degree or Certificate of Achievement Spring 2014 may participate in the Commencement Ceremony.

Students who have not yet submitted their application for graduation must do so before they will be able to participate in commencement.

Information regarding the Commencement Ceremony, including caps and gowns, will be mailed to eligible students in mid-April.

Graduation Honors

Students who earn an Associate Degree are eligible for graduation honors. Students who maintain a 3.75 or higher grade point average will be graduated Summa Cum Laude (with highest honors); those who maintain a 3.50-3.74 grade point average will be graduated Magna Cum Laude (with high honors); those with a 3.25-3.49 will be graduated Cum Laude (with honors). Students must complete 40 semester credit hours of work at Lansing Community College to qualify for honors.

Associate Degrees

Prior to submitting an application for an Associate Degree, students should consult with an advisor to review progress toward completing requirements. For specific graduation requirements refer to: Graduation Requirements, Certificates and Degrees.

Attach the curricular guide (Degree and Certificate Programs) to be used to audit your application. If none is attached, the application will be returned.
        *Only curricular guides with current effective dates can be used.
        *Students may not follow a curricular guide that predates their first semester of enrollment.
        *For questions about your program, contact the department indicated on the curricular guide. 

Attach a signed Course Substitution and Waiver Authorization Form, if you have course substitutions and/or waivers. Your application will be denied if:
    1. Transfer courses that are required for your program are not posted to your academic record.
    2.  There are incomplete grades on courses required for your program.

Certificates

Prior to submitting an application for a Certificate of Achievement or application for a Certificate of Completion, students should consult with an advisor to review progress toward completing requirements. For specific graduation requirements refer to: Graduation Requirements, Certificates and Degrees.

The following two documents must be attached or the application will be returned:
    1. A Certificate Pre-Audit completed, signed and stamped by the program department.
    2. The curricular guide (Degree and Certificate Programs) to be used to audit your application.
            *Only curricular guides with current effective dates can be used.
            *Students may not follow a curricular guide that predates their first semester of enrollment.
            *For questions about your program, contact the department indicated on the curricular guide.

Your application will be denied if:
    1. Transfer courses that are required for your program are not posted to your academic record.
    2. There are incomplete grades on courses required for your program.

If you have lost your diploma or certificate, a replacement can be requested by completing the following form. There is a $5.00 fee for each replacement requested.
