2009 Lansing Community College Foundation Employee Campaign

Thank you for your interest in supporting Lansing Community College students with a donation to a Scholarship Fund.

The need for financial support is greater than ever

We have a 46% increase in scholarship applications from the previous year. We currently have more than 500 students who still need scholarships for the coming academic year.

It is because of this need that we are asking for help from all corners of our region. When a student gets a scholarship, they further their dream of an education. You have helped them with that dream! Our scholarship recipients say thank you:

“ I knew that by selecting LCC, I was already headed for a great future, supplemented with an enriching education. Thanks to the kindness of my donor, this scholarship will only further assist in achieving my education, career goals, and increase my chances of success. Without a doubt, this award will prove to be extremely valuable to me, helping to reduce the financial burdens of pursuing a degree in Marketing.”  (Kendra)

Opportunities to help

We offer the following opportunities to our LCC employees as a way to make a tax-deductible gift to your own Lansing Community College Foundation, helping students right here on our campus.

  1. Start a Scholarship fund in your name (or after a loved one) and tell us the award criteria. With a $50 per pay period donation, you can award a $1300 scholarship by August of 2010. This will be awarded following your set award criteria. Would you please join in me starting your own Scholarship fund with a minimum payroll deduction of $50 per pay period?
  2. LCC Employee's Scholarship Fund - Donate to a fund that will be awarded to a student or two specifically funded by LCC Employees. This will be awarded to students in any LCC program with a 2.0 GPA and financial need.
  3. Call Sue Fisher to discuss other Scholarship Funds previously established at the Foundation that may be of interest to you.  

When you sign up for payroll deduction in any amount, you will be entered into a contest to win a $100 Star Card, to be used anywhere StarCards are accepted.
