Student Financial Need is based on the figures listed below:
Cost of Attendance (COA) – This is determined by LCC for
each student. COA includes estimated costs for tuition & fees,
books & supplies, transportation, and living expenses.
Expected Family Contribution (EFC) - The information that
you report on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) is used to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
This number is used to determine the type and amount of federal
and state financial aid available to you.

order to meet their full financial need. Lack of funding or
other circumstances may prevent LCC from meeting full financial
need for all students.
What if I drop a class and I have received Financial Aid?
-
If you fail to complete all classes that you register for,
you may have to repay a portion of the financial aid you
received.
-
If you drop a class for a refund or change any course to
Audit status, you may be asked to repay some of the
financial aid you received.
-
If you drop a class, it may affect your eligibility for
financial aid based on the Satisfactory Academic Progress
(SAP) policy, as described below.
Students who receive any type of Financial Aid must maintain
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) while attending Lansing
Community College. SAP includes all credits attempted even if
you were not receiving financial aid at the time you attempted
the credits. To meet SAP at LCC, you must maintain a:
-
Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of a 2.0 or better in
all courses attempted at Lansing Community College.
-
Cumulative completion ratio of 70% or better of all courses
attempted at Lansing Community College.
-
Completion of the declared program of study within 150% of
the credit hours required for the educational program.
**If
you have documentable, extenuating circumstances, you may
complete a Financial Aid Appeal and return it to the Enrollment
Services Office.
