Refunds and Withdrawals
Lansing Community College has policies which stipulate the amount of tuition and fees that are refundable to a student who withdraws from courses during a term. These policies are published by the Registrar's Office, and the Financial Aid Office on the web and in the course schedule book.

Repayment Policy (Return of Title IV Financial Aid)
If a student completely withdraws from all courses before the 60% point of the semester (roughly week 10 of a 16 week course), then a Federal Refund Calculation will be completed to determine what portion of disbursed aid must be repaid to LCC by the student.

Accreditation Information
The Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) provides an alternative accreditation process through which Lansing Community College can maintain its accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC). By participating in AQIP, the college provides the HLC with evidence that it meets HLC accreditation standards and expectations through a systematic framework which guides institutions to perform self-assessment.

Satisfactory Academic Progress
This is the term used to denote a student's successful completion of coursework toward a certificate or degree. Academic progress standards vary by department and type of financial assistance awarded.

High School Equivalency (GED)
Lansing Community College does not offer a GED program. The college does, however, offer a High School Diploma Completion program for eligible students. Please visit the colleges HSDCI website to view eligibility criteria.

General School Issues
Student Judicial Affairs works with student issues at Lansing Community College and is always available for consultation and assistance to students who have concerns. The college will assist you in utilizing LCC's appeal process, provide counsel, information, and directions for resolving issues.

Financial Aid for Study-Abroad
LCC Students who are in study-abroad programs may apply for financial aid following the regular financial aid process.
Rights and Responsibilities of Aid Recipients

Scholarship Fraud
According to the Federal Trade Commission, perpetrators of financial aid fraud often used the following lines to sell their scholarship services; students should avoid any scholarship service or website that says the following:
- "This scholarship is guaranteed or your money back."
- "You can't get this information anywhere else."
- "I just need your credit card or bank account number to hold this scholarship."
- "We'll do all the work."
- "This scholarship will cost some money."
- "You've been selected by a "national Foundation" to receive a scholarship." or "You are a finalist", in a contest you never entered.

Athletic Program Participation and Financial Support
As part of the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act, information on annual participation rates and financing of men's' and women's sports in inter-collegiate athletic programs is available by request to students and the general public. For more information or to receive a copy of the report, contact the Athletic department.
Campus Safety and Security
The Lansing Community College department of Public Safety (DPS) has state-certified police officers, public safety officers, and parking enforcement officers who patrol the campus area. these officers are supported by communications officers, administrators, and investigators. DPS is a service-oriented department whose mission is to contribute to and promote a safe and secure community while respecting the rights and dignity of all persons utilizing facilities and programs of the college.
