Here you will find useful information for Veterans enrolled at  Lansing Community College.
 
Veterans - Students who served, are serving or are dependants of those who were 100% disabled while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to activate their benefits through LCC. The Office of Enrollment Services has all the necessary paperwork to activate Chapters 30, 31, 1606, 1607, and 35. Please contact us to assist you in applying for your benefits. Scholarship Opportunity:
 
Veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom can apply for this year's Horatio Alger Military Veterans Scholarship program through Sept. 28. Applications are available online at

Among the requirements:

Service in the U.S. military in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan or Operation Iraqi Freedom since Sept. 11, 2001.

Critical financial need.

No more than 60 cumulative semester/credit hours by the end of the 2007term.

A grade point average of at least 2.0.

"Integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity."

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

The program was created after former U.S. Ambassador to Spain George Argyros and his wife, Julia, visited wounded U.S. troops in a temporary hospital at Rota, Spain. Through their family foundation, the Argyros donated $5 million as seed money to launch the scholarship program, open to any soldier, sailor, airman or Marine who serves in the Iraq or Afghanistan theater. More than $10 million has been added to the fund by other donors.
