How long is a semester?

Fall (late August - mid December) and Spring (early January - mid May) semesters are 16 weeks.

Can I contact Enrollment Services myself to help a relative or friend?

We are able to release any general information regarding the college, processes and steps to accomplish goals.

We are not able to release any student-specific information to anyone except the student; this includes financial aid, admission, veteran and registrar related matters. These guidelines are outlined within the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and are strictly adhered to by Lansing Community College.

How do I get my Star Card (student ID)?

Once you have your classes registered and paid for, you will be able to receive your Star Card. The card is issued free to students. See our Parking and ID Services department for more information.

How do I request a transcript?

You may fax or mail in a request for your LCC transcript. Click here for more information.

I just got a letter?

If we require certain forms that are not included within our correspondence, they can be picked up and completed at the Enrollment Services office. Some Financial Aid forms can also be printed online through the Financial Aid web site.

If the letter is requiring you to see an academic advisor/counselor, please contact the Advising & Counseling department.

If you received an acceptance letter, your student number is included, allowing you to register for classes. The enclosed sheet entitled "Getting Started at LCC" can guide you within the processes up through registration.

Financial Aid
-
Financial Aid documents may vary depending on time of semester. Usually, forms take 2 weeks for processing; including loan applications, appeals, verifications, etc. The FAFSA may take 3 - 6 weeks for processing through the Federal Government and Lansing Community College.

Admission Application
-
A "quick admit" can be performed at the Enrollment Services counter allowing a student to complete all the necessary actions to register. A student number is also created in this process. This process takes approximately 5 minutes.

A web application can be processed within 1 business day. You will receive an acceptance letter within 3 business days with your student number.

Requested transcripts require 3 business days to process (5 days during the end of the semester).

Incoming transcripts may take approximately 5 business days to be evaluated.

Appeals

Financial Aid and Registrar appeals may take up to 2 weeks to process. Correspondence will be issued through the mail.
