Own a Business - Own Your Future!

A Strategic Pathway to Successful Entrepreneurship

Mid-Michigan Innovation Team

In 2006, Mid-Michigan Innovation Team (MMIT) was the recipient of a $15 million U.S. Department of Labor Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) grant. This $15 million grant has been allocated to nine subcontractors throughout Mid-Michigan representing programs in biomass, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, building and construction, and entrepreneurship. MMIT's mission is to seed new economy industries in our region--creating great jobs and diverse business opportunities, making entrepreneurship a viable option for career launch, transition or development, and inspiring the generation of creative, curious and skilled talent who will reinvent our region, our state, and our world.

In response to this charge, LCC has launched an entrepreneurship initiative designed to prepare students and community members to explore and learn more about small business ownership.
