Making College More Accessible for
High School Students
Lansing Community College and the Howell School District have
formed an important partnership at the new Parker Campus. LCC's
Livingston County Center is moving all of its courses along with student
support services to Parker, and is offering a full range of college
freshman and sophomore level courses throughout the day, evening, and
weekends at Parker. Along with the older students who typically take LCC
courses, these courses are open to high school students interested in
taking college courses while they are still in high school. For
qualified high school juniors and seniors, tuition and fees for these
courses may be covered by the Howell School District. This is referred
to as dual enrollment
. For more information on college courses for high school students,
speak with a Howell High School guidance counselor or LCC
representative.
Transferrable Courses
LCC works with both public and private colleges and universities
around the state and country to assure that relevant courses will apply
when students transfer. It is important that students work with an LCC
academic advisor if they are interested in transferring.
