Concealed Weapon/Pistol License                                                                                                                              This program complies with requirements of: PA 372 of 1927 Sec. 5J2(b) as amended by PA 381 of 2000 and PA 217 of 2002, Sec. 5J. It covers firearm safety, defensive shooting, firearms and the law, use of deadly force strategies for home safety, and responding to a violent confrontation. The class will be held at the Lansing Police Department Firearm facility on Airport Road in Lansing.

Percussion Ensemble                                                                                                                                                            Performs traditional and eclectic works for a wide range of percussion instruments. Lansing Concert Band                                                                                                                                                             Prerequisite:  Instrumental audition                                                                                                                                       A community band serving as the official band of the City of Lansing. The group performs throughout the year and plays all types of music with an emphasis on traditional concert band literature. Participants will play in public performances of the band. Participants are required to successfully audition for the Lansing Concert Band.

Lanswingers Ensemble                                                                                                                                                            A mixed-voice (male/female) vocal jazz ensemble. Concert Choir                                                                                                                                                                             A large mixed-voice (male/female) ensemble featuring art music of all stylistic periods. Jazz Ensemble                                                                                                                                                                          A big band sound that performs a broad spectrum of jazz styles from Swing to Bebop and beyond. Guitar Ensemble                                                                                                                                                            Performs solo and combo works in classical, jazz, and contemporary music styles. Photo:  Lighthouses/Landscapes                                                                                                                                       This three-day weekend field trip to Alpena, Michigan will focus on landscapes, lighthouses and the scenic beauty of lower northeast Michigan in autumn. Instruction will include photo lectures and field trips to lighthouses and scenic overlooks of Lake Huron. Students are responsible for their own travel, lodging and meals.
