Amazing Art
(Grades 2 & 3)
Design, create, explore! In this class, you will learn all about art and
design. You'll learn about famous artists from different places and times,
and then use what you've learned to make your own projects. You'll build art
with modeling clay, get ideas for decorating your room, make your own
costumes, then fast-forward to using computers to create new artwork. During
the last class, you will host an art show for your family and friends. Each
session offers something new in this creative class!
Science Wizards
(Grades 2 & 3)
Atoms and energy, atmosphere and animals - this class has it all!
Explore a world of science, from the lives of animals to what makes our
weather. Hands-on experiments that seem like real magic will help you
discover the amazing world around you. Use reading, math, and critical
thinking to help you do your experiments. If you've ever wondered what it's
like to be a scientist, then this is your class.
Art Exploration (Grades
4 & 5)
Let your creativity run wild with plenty of hands-on projects in
this class! You will learn the basic principles of artistic and graphic
design to create exciting projects. Finally, you will know what it's like to
be a real professional artist when you plan an art auction for your families
and friends at the end of the program.
Backyard Nature (Grades
4 & 5)
Learn about the natural world around you, including birds, mammals,
and trees. Animal track casting, leaf and bark rubs, and games are some of
the fun learning activities you will do. Identify birds by their songs as
well as by sight. You will keep track of your week in a nature journal.
Beginning Chinese: Language and Culture (Grades
4 & 5)
Discover the history, geography, culture, and language of China! In
this course, you will discover many exciting aspects of China and learn
basic Chinese language skills including listening, speaking, reading and
writing common words and phrases. You will work with your classmates to
apply these skills to real-life situations. The class has many hands-on
activities, including working with a brush pen to write Chinese characters
and experimenting with Chinese paper cutting. The use of multimedia
technology, slides, tapes, and DVD's make this class full of non-stop
learning and fun.
