
Goals
Goal 1. Create and support a highly educated community by:
- Supporting student goal achievement through partnerships with secondary institutions, universities, businesses, and community organizations
- Providing a range of credentialing activities
- Offering credit and non-credit learning opportunities
Goal 2. Support economic and workforce development by:
- Promoting county and state economic development through a variety of education and training services to businesses, not-for-profits, and governmental organizations
- Supporting entrepreneurial and small business activities
- Providing appropriate career advancement activities
- Assisting with the transition to employment
Goal 3. Deliver high quality and high demand academic coursework and training opportunities by:
- Ensuring that the quality and "brand" of course deliverables are of the highest caliber
- Utilizing a regional approach to planning
- Working to make all programs and courses appropriate, and in some cases customized, for those who can benefit
Goal 4. Create partnerships that work by:
- Promoting partnerships that recognize the need for each partner to be successful
- Listening carefully to partners
- Jointly identifying opportunities, trends, and challenges
- Creating win-win strategies
Goal 5. Increase community engagement and enrichment by:
- Acting as a resource for intellectual, cultural, and physical activities in the community
- Providing accessible learning opportunities responsive to a range of community needs
- Developing learning activities for all ages
- Promoting a culture of community involvement and lifelong learning
Goal 6. Support student/stakeholder achievement and success by:
- Assisting learners to transition between units, departments and institutions
- Working closely with existing programs and initiatives
- Providing referrals to appropriate services for all learners
Goal 7. Use data to inform programming and decision-making by:
- Managing all aspects of the division effectively through planning, organizing, staffing, and decision-making based on data
- Establishing key performance indicators and performance standards, assessing performance, and taking appropriate action
Goal 8. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders by:
- Using social media effectively
- Communicating regularly to internal and external constituents
Goal 9. Act as good stewards of community and institutional resources by:
- Making each unit member aware of institutional policies and procedures
- Asking each unit member to adopt a philosophy of good stewardship
