We offer multiple levels of curriculum in order to best accommodate each individuals needs as listed below.
- Intermediate I and II
- Advanced I and II
- TOEFL Preparation, Pronunciation, & Vocabulary courses may be offered if there is enough student interest

Course Descriptions
Grammar |

Int. 1 Grammar |
Emphasis will be on the verb system of English Language and the grammatical structures will be learned and practiced through oral and written exercises. |
Int. II Grammar |
This course will reinforce verb aspects such as modals, quantity classifiers, articles, and will introduce the passive, clauses, phrasal verbs, and particular adjectives. The Grammatical structure will be practiced through oral and written exercises. |
Adv. I Grammar |
We will review verb tense/aspect, adverbials and other modifiers, gerunds and infinitives, and cover passives, conditional, and relative clauses with emphasis on their meaning and usage. |
Adv. II Grammar |
We will review the verb system and the following structures: Pronouns, Modals, Passive, Noun/Adjective Clauses, and Reported speech with certain verb aspects and tenses. |
List/Speaking |

Int. I List/Speaking |
Designed to provide American English language through listening and speaking exercises at a low intermediate level. |
Int. II List/Speaking |
Designed to provide American English language through listening and speaking exercises. |
Adv. I List/Speaking |
This high-level course is designed to improve listening and speaking skills for students preparing to enter academic classes at the college level. |
Reading |

Int. I Reading |
We will focus on the skills that will enable the student to comprehend relationships between parts of sentences, between sentences and within paragraphs. |
Int. II Reading |
Emphasis on learning skills to increase proficiency by reading ideas, sentences and paragraphs, rather than reading word phrases. |
Advanced I Reading |
This course will continue to teach skills to enable the students to gain speed and proficiency in reading by focusing on meaningful word groups, identifying grammatical forms as markers of meaning, and using rhetorical strategies. |
Advanced II Reading |
First speed and proficiency will be the main emphasis as the student should already have developed the ability to read various rhetorical styles; such as sequence, description, compare/contrast, cause/effect, and argumentation. |
Writing |

Intermediate Writing I |
We will use English at the paragraph level. A priority will be developing strong topic sentences and producing a well-formed paragraph, including topic sentence, supporting sentence, and a conclusion. |
Intermediate Writing II |
The emphasis is on writing effective topic sentences, supporting sentences, concluding sentences, using transitions, as well as four sentence types (simple, compound, complex, compound-complex). A few styles of paragraphs such as logical division of ideas/order of importance, comparison-contrast, cause-effect, and opinion paragraphs, will also be introduced and practiced. |
Advanced Writing I |
We will use English at the essay level. Priorities include practice in writing an effective introduction with a well-formulated thesis statement, a cohesive substantive body, and a definite conclusion. |
Advanced Writing II |
This course will focus on using English at the essay level. Priorities include practice in writing an effective introduction with a well-formulated thesis statement, a cohesive substantive body, and a definite conclusion. |
