Process for Requesting Participation in the
LCC/CTE Teaching Online Certification (TOC)
- For a description of this training, dates when it is offered, etc., LCC faculty and staff are encouraged to
view the CTE’s website at http://www.lcc.edu/cte/workshops/teaching_online_cert.aspx
- The prerequisite to this training is the three hour "Introduction to ANGEL 7.3" workshop. To register for
this workshop, see the CTE’s website at http://lcc.edu/cte/workshops/registration.aspx?tab=tech#ITA73
Participation in this prerequisite workshop will be verified prior to enrolling participants in the
"LCC/CTE Teaching Online Certification."
- To request participation in the "LCC/CTE Teaching Online Certification," faculty and staff are required
to contact their Department Chair. (They can not enroll directly through the CTE.)
- Each Department Chair will submit a list of names to their respective Dean, who together with the Provost
will determine who needs this training to teach an online and/or hybrid course.
Please note: Participants can expect to spend a minimum of 10 hours per week engaged in this six week seminar.
While this is an online training, it is not self-paced. There are specific deadlines for each assignment,
chats, etc. Participants unable to meet the required deadlines will be dropped from this training.
- A final list of names will be sent to the Center for Teaching Excellence by the Provost (or the Provost’s designee)
approximately 14 days prior to the beginning of the training.
- Once the CTE has received the final list, we will send an email to participants to confirm their participation
and address next steps.
