CTE Grants
This section provides information, applications, etc. on grant funding
available to faculty through the CTE.
Equipment Available for Checkout
The CTE offers a variety of resources for you to utilize and checkout throughout the semester.
Individual, Small Group and
Departmental Consultations
Individual, Small Group and Departmental Consultations are available to suit
your needs. In such a consultation, the CTE can address your specific areas
of concern.
Small Group Instructional Feedback
(SGIF)
Upon faculty request, the CTE will conduct a SGIF for instructors interested
in collecting student feedback at mid-semester.
Teaching Circles
Teaching Circles are groups of 4 to 10 faculty who meet an average of six
times throughout a semester, or an academic year, to work together on a
specific issue concerning their teaching or students' learning. Refer to
this section for possible topics for Teaching Circles, suggestions for
forming and maintaining Teaching Circles, and to access an online
application form.
Support
Applegram Program
With an Applegram, students and colleagues can voice their appreciation to
teachers and staff for caring, helping, and sharing their enthusiasm. Click
here to say thanks to a special instructor, tutor, librarian, counselor,
administrator, lab tech or aide.
Faculty Appreciation Day
Although the Center celebrates faculty throughout the year, the CTE staff
goes "Above and Beyond" during the month of April to recognize
the important contributions of LCC Faculty to students and to LCC.
LCC/CTE Learning Scholars Program
The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) offers over 100 different learning opportunities a year. Based on
your participation, the Learning Scholars Program will recognize your learning endeavors by awarding different
levels of scholarship. Scholarship will be recognized during Faculty Appreciation Month.
Sabbatical Leave Reports
Full-time faculty members are eligible for a sabbatical leave after six
years of continuous service at the college. The purpose of a sabbatical
leave is to enhance a faculty member's professional competence, and it
may be granted for advanced study.
Requests for Sabbatical Leave/Professional Development Leave shall be filed with the Human Resources Department using the "Sabbatical Leave/Professional Development Leave Request" form. All requests must be submitted by February 1st for the forthcoming academic year.
