Lesson 1: Purpose of Early Semester Student Feedback

  1. To recognize exemplary teaching efforts.
  2. To give students a sense of empowerment with regards to their learning environment.
  3. To give teachers feedback regarding their teaching effectiveness.
  4. To determine possible barriers to students' learning.
  5. To increase instructor accountability.
  6. To assess various instructional practices on student learning.
  7. To stimulate instructor growth and improvement.
  8. To prevent an attitude of "it doesn't matter," which is likely to affect an instructors performance.
