Attend an ITV Class in Session
Refer to the list of current ITV faculty and make arrangements to attend an ITV class in session. This can be done while you are developing your ITV Class.
Use the Observation Guide for this. Pay special attention to the instructor's presentation style and the interaction between students and the instructor.
Meet with the Media Services Representatives
Contact Rob VanOveran, Video Engineer, in Media services, 483-1686. He will be able to answer any questions you have about the use of equipment and technologies in the ITV rooms and arrange your taped practice session.
Contact Marc Smyth, Manager of Classroom Services, for questions on copyright laws, at 483-1674. It is necessary to talk with Marc about copyright before showing any videos or playing music to your ITV class. Special copyright permission may be required to use certain materials in your class due to the fact that you will be broadcasting to other sites.
Refer to the list of current ITV faculty, or contact other ITV resource persons, to request their assistance for an off-site viewing of your presentation when you are ready for the practice session.
Prepare, Present, and Critique a Quick Lesson
- Prepare a 10 minute presentation on a topic of your choice.
- Prepared overheads with appropriate font size
- An audio/video or multi-media segment, if appropriate to content
- Interactive or collaborative learning activities
- Arrange to give your presentation and have it taped.
Contact Rob VanOveran, 483-1686, in Media Services to make arrangements for your presentation to be taped.
Contact ITV faculty members to act as your remote site students during your presentation and other colleagues who can act as your students in the LCC classroom. It is important to have an audience at the originating site, as well as in at least one off-site location.
- Critique your taped session and ask the faculty members acting as your students to critique your presentation, using the checklist on the next page.
Evaluate your presentation with an ITV faculty member of your choice, using the Presentation Critique Checklist and the Observation Guide.
