The Thomas A. Coens Quality Fund
Scholarship Application Process
Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is intended for use to fund classes, events,
activities or programs for the purpose of learning about the
quality management philosophy or practices of Dr. W. Edwards
Deming and/or emerging theories and understandings of
organizational and personal excellence.
Applicant is eligible if he/she meets
at least one of the
following criteria:

LCC student or employee
·
Current member of Capital Quality Initiative (individual or
organization has membership)
·
Resides or works in the greater Lansing area
·
The event the person is attending is being held in the greater
Lansing area.
Selection
Process
Scholarships will be awarded based on alignment with the
eligibility criteria listed above. The scholarship selection
process is non-discriminatory and open to all qualified
applicants. Preference will be given to classes and programs
sponsored by Lansing Community College or the Capital Quality
Initiative.
For the 2007-2008 school year, the committee has $950 which
may be divided up among several applicants.
A letter announcing the Committee's decision will be sent to
all applicants.
Award Process

The
scholarship check will be made payable to the organization
providing the class, seminar, program

If
the class or event is sponsored by LCC, funds will be
transferred internally
Timetable
-
The
Scholarship Committee will meet in May, November, and
February to review and award scholarship funds.

Applications may be turned in at any time and will be held
for review at the next meeting of the Scholarship Committee
