This is Kim's first term at LCC. She comes from a small, rural town
and has never been separated from her family for very long. She is
lonely and worries about whether she will be able to fit in here.
Back home, her friends had known her since she was born. Up here,
she feared people would not see her or accept the real Kim. Who can

dating since high school. He feels worthless and has lost much of
his self-confidence. He doubts his ability to sustain any kind of
relationship - personal, academic, or professional. He's considering
dropping out of school and has even talked of suicide. He really
