Sunny Cirlin, a native New Yorker, has been a Lansing Community College
faculty member for more than 22 years, and has been teaching and performing in Michigan for the past 30.
She maintains a private studio in mid-Michigan, continuing to develop talented
students at every level, from beginners to those at the highest level of
achievement. In addition to her work at LCC, she is an adjunct faculty at Olivet College
and Great Lakes
Christian
College. Twice the recipient of the LCC Professional
Development grant, she has studied Pedagogy with major figures in the field. As
a violinist in the Grand Rapids Symphony since 1988, she performed and recorded
in New York City’s Carnegie Hall for their 75th
Anniversary Celebration. This nationally recognized Grammy nominated orchestra,
has produced numerous CD’s on both private labels and NAXOS. Before that, she was a member of the Flint, Lansing,
and Saginaw Symphonies. Her teachers include: Oscar Ravina (NY Philharmonic),
Emanuel Vardi (NBC Orchestra), Daniel Majeske (Cleveland Orchestra), Stacey
Phelps-Wetzel (Los Angeles Philharmonic), and Charles Avsharian (Meadowmount
School of Music)
