HHPS Continuing Education
Continuing Education Courses are designed to update your professional certification, continue your professional development, or gain additional professional certifications. Many of the courses allow you to meet continuing education contact hour requirements for your profession.

Community Training Programs- Health Related
Community Training Program courses include CPR and First Aid training for home and the workplace. These courses are open to anyone and are designed for the general community.
Courses include adult CPR, Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, and AED training.
Healthcare Provider AHA Programs
Healthcare Provider AHA programs are American Heart Association courses designed for current healthcare providers who need advanced training courses in advanced life support (ALS) areas. Additionally, the basic life support (BLS) CPR training is available for new or aspiring healthcare providers.
With the exception of the BLS CPR, these courses require current, active healthcare provider status. Refresher training courses require current/non-lapsed status in that discipline.
Courses include initial and refresher training in:

Pediatric advanced life support (PALS)

Pediatric emergency assessment/recognition/stabilization (PEARS)

Specialty Public Services Courses
Public services courses are specialty courses designed for professions in law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), and fire services.
Course offering include EMS Special Topics seminars, Farmedic program, Flashover training, and Coal Fire training.
Specialty Health & Human Services Courses
Health and human services courses are specialty courses designed for practicing professionals in areas such as dental hygiene, radiology, surgical technology, sonography, child development, massage therapy, and human services.
Course offering include mental health and aging seminars, anesthesia for dental hygienist, and vascular technology.
Specialty Nursing & Health Services Courses
Specialty nursing and health services course are designed for trained nurses and other allied health service areas (e.g. phlebotomy technician, nurse aid, pharmacy technician).
One of the regular offerings in this area is a 12-week Cardiac Dysrhythmia Interpretation course.
Instructor & Train-the-Trainer Courses
These courses are designed to develop instructors credentials in various human, health, and public services areas.
Courses range from CPR Instructor to ACLS/PALS instructor to EMS instructor/coordinator.
