Curriculum Code: 0833 (Effective Fall 2002 - Summer 2007)
This certificate option is designed to provide entry level skills for the person
who wishes to enter the job market as a county or local correctional officer.
This curriculum meets the County and Local Detention Vocational Certificate
requirements.

NOTES:
1. Students must complete each of these courses with a minimum 2.0 grade to
receive this certificate of achievement as well as the County and Local
Detention Officer Vocational Certificate.
2. This course will be waived if student scores five or above on the Writing
Placement Test. This test is administered free of charge in the
Assessment Center, Room 2100, Gannon Vocational-Technical Center.

Students should see course descriptions to find out when departments plan to
offer courses. Students who for any reason are unable to follow the course
sequence suggested below (for example, those who are part-time, have transferred
in courses from another school, or have prerequisites to fulfill) should contact
an academic advisor or counselor for help with adjustments.
