Business Manager/Administrator

What is a business manager/administrator?
Managers plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate entire projects from start to finish. The role cuts across all areas of business and organizational life and has as its central purpose the effective use of resources. Managers supply encouragement, coordination and leadership to achieve company goals.

What types of skills are required?
Skills in leadership, creative thinking, communication, human relations, decision-making, organizational development, accounting and economics are those required to succeed in jobs relating to management.

Where are they employed?
Business managers/administrators may work in administrative and managerial capacities for both for-profit and non-profit organizations.

What certificates and degrees are available?
Certificates of achievement are offered in Management and Advanced Management. Associate in business degree programs are offered in both Business Administration and in Management.

What is the salary range?
Locally, the starting salary range is about $15,000 to $26,000 per year. Nationally, business managers can expect annual earnings starting at $15,000 and increasing to as much as $100,000+ with extensive experience, education and responsibilities.
